Simple Fox Nail Art for beginners

Would you like to know how I created this cute Fox inspired nail look? Look no further!

You will need:

1 Rusty toned nail varnish (or whatever colour you want your Fox to be)
1 Black nail varnish/nail art pen (will be used for detailing)
1 White nail varnish/ nail art pen (will be used for detailing)
1 nail art tool (thin)/cocktail stick/ pointy thing for detailing

Now I'm working on the assumption here, that your nails are clean and prepped (filed, buffed and base coat applied). So our first step is to apply an all over base coat of your colour of choice. I used a light rusty orange with a slight shimmer, but really it's personal choice.

After two coats of this, or when you are entirely happy with the coverage, WAIT UNTIL IT IS COMPLETELY DRY before continuing with the next step. Looking at your nail as the top being the nail bed, and the bottom being the tip, create two triangles of white that meet in the centre of the nails at the tip.

Please excuse the mess, but it all washes off! OK. So think of these white triangles as the Fox's muzzle. The next step is really gonna bring this little chap to life, using either a black nail art pen or your nail tool and varnish, you're gonna wanna add in a little triangle between the two white triangles, for his Iddybiddy nose.

Can you tell what it is yet?! You're nearly there! The next steps are quick and easy, and pretty self explanatory. Two eyes and some whiskers. Little black lined white triangles for his ears, and your work here is done!

FOXES!

See I told you it was easy! If you enjoyed this style of tutorial, or have seen some of my other designs and want a step by step of those, please, get in touch! Leave comments, either in here or in my other social media platforms.

Tanya Burr Lip and Nails

Hello munchkins! I realise it's not been long since my last post, but this was something that I just HAD to share with you.

I've been seeing a lot of reviews and recommendations online at the moment for the wonderful Tanya Burr's Lipgloss and Nail range (available in selected Superdrug stores from April 9th). I'll admit I was slightly dubious of the lipgloss aspect of the range, as in the past I have found glosses to be too sticky, with not enough colour for me to wear them as anything other than a top coat, but I bit the bullet, and I'm SO glad I did!

I bought two lipglosses and a nail varnish to try initially from the range

Lipglosses in Vampire Kiss and Aurora  at £6.99 each
Nail varnish in Little Duck at £5.99

As I mentioned before I am not a fan of lipglosses, however Tanya has changed my mind. The range consists of 5 shimmer shades and 7 cream shades, so naturally I chose one of each. These glide on like butter! They feel nourishing without being greasy or sticky, are highly pigmented and not to mention smell SCRUMMY!

The first I tried was Aurora, a beautiful rose petal pink shimmer lipgloss, despite it being a shimmer gloss I am still really impressed with the depth of colour that it gave. I can see this being a fantastic day to night lip look for me, teamed with a light lid shade for the day for a sweeter look, and transferring into night with a sultry smokey eye and subtle lip combo. Perfect.

The second lipgloss was Vampire Kiss, my cream based choice, and boy am I happy with this one. In my previous post, where I had my makeup done by MAC, I expressed my love for the Viva Glam Rihanna lipstick, a gorgeous vibrant red. Vampire kiss is within the same ball park, It's so highly pigmented I'm genuinely in love with it. I know that this one will be a regular in my handbag. I'm really loving a pop of colour on my lips at the minute and this provides all of that with a luxurious sheen. Delicious!

And finally, the nail Varnish. I'm a mega nail varnish fan, however I have been stung in the past by brands that promise the world and provide nothing but chipping and a broken heart ( I get far too involved in nail upkeep). Obviously as I've literally just (Today) made these purchases I cant vouch for how long lasting they are, but I can comment on the colour. WOW. Little Duck is a cute pastel blue that is perfect for spring/summer. I applied two coats to my nail, on top of a base, but I'll be honest, the initial coat would have sufficed, the coverage is that great.

I said at the start of the post that these were the initial products that I was going to purchase, to see if they suited me, as far as lipglosses go, I'll be sure to expand my collection. And nail varnishes? Well, longevity aside, I'm sure there will be more additions to my collection in the near future, the shades are too perfect to pass up.

Until next time

The one when I turned fancy

This post takes a slightly different route to one we usually follow here on Willyoubemybeast, in that we're going high class. I'm talking champers, black tie and a red carpet.

My housemate and fellow blogger Sam won a mega theatre prize which entitled her to not only £1000 worth of theatre tokens but also 2 tickets to the Olivier awards held in Covent garden, London. If you're unsure what the Oliver's are, I'll out a link to the site here, as well as some YouTube videos from Official London Theatre. Essentially it is a award show celebrating theatre, on and off of the west end.

I know you know where this is going...

My lovely housemate took me to he award ceremony! Now the idea of walking down a red carpet, littered with celebrities, in a fancy pants dress was enough for me! But this was a prize that kept on giving.
Sam was then approached by MAC offering to do our makeup for the award ceremony. Now as you can imagine I jumped at the chance of having MAC paint my face. So on Sunday 13th April at 3pm, I went to makeup heaven.

We arrived at the Covent Garden branch, to be met with our lovely makeup artist, Sam! My Sam went first, whilst I fangirled and pawed over all the makeup available for our use. I'm sure Sam won't mind me mentioning her indifference towards makeup, and as a girl that never wears any, It was evident how daunting how this experience was for her, but she embraced it like a trooper. I know, what a brave soul.

Sam's before

So for Sam it was decided between our makeup artist and myself that a smokey eye would be perfect for the event.

Starting with a Paint pot in shade Painterly for a neutral base she then pressed a naked Pigment over the top to add a dimension of shimmer.

Next using a fluff shadow brush through the socket line, she swept One to watch from the Pro Longwear range, for the medium shade. Then blending Lie Low again from the Pro Longwear range, from the outer third, blended with the fluff shadow brush only using the tip to create a seamless blend

Using an angle brush with Lie Low shadow from before to create definition underneath the eye softened out with the 239 brush, repeat on the upper lid to create a tighter line for the 33 super soft false lashes to affix to.

And finally, before applying the lashes, use Mascara to create an even lash base for the lashes to sit.

Completed smokey eye!

TOP TIP ALERT!!!

Bend the lash before application so it takes to the curvature of the eye.

Finish with a final lick of Mascara to bind the natural and false lashes together. Sam's smokey eye, COMPLETE!

And then it was my turn!...

My before

As my fringe somewhat hides my eyes, it was quickly decided that the focal point of my look would be my lips.

After a quick base of the same Paint Pot and base shadow as Sam, I was given a GORGEOUS eyeliner wing using their Gel Liner Fluidline in Blacktrack , a quick lash curl, and my base layer of Mascara Studio Fix Boldblack Lash.

The next stage in the plan was to affix some lashes for myself as well, however the makeup artist commented on how long my lashes naturally were. So another application of mascara and my eye's were complete!

On to the lips! I am becoming more and more of a lipstick fan so when presented with a vibrant red like Viva Glam Rihanna I was thrilled.

A delicious red like this needed to take centre stage, so teamed with a slight contour using a Warm Soul Mineralize Blush , and a cheeky sweep of Petal Power Mineralize Blush over the apples I was Hot to Trot!

And After!
And again...

Well that's that my little Fromage Frais. I would like to take this moment to thank all that made the weekend possible for Sam and I to attend. For the theatre side of the night I shall again direct you over to Sam's post, I shall leave you with some snippets of the night, Good night. Xx

I would like to begin by stating that in no way am I being paid to promote nor advertise this website, this is a recommendation of my own....however if they did want to send my some freebies, I wouldn't say no... :D

I have mentioned in previous posts, as a student I can't be as frivolous with my money as I wish I could be, especially when it comes to treating my face. I'm also aware that many of you are in the same situation as myself, and even if you aren't, why spend money unnecessarily?

Fret no more my Petit Pois', for I have sourced a website with a discount section that will blow your socks off,  Cosmetics Fairy.

There is a scrummy section on said website that offers name brand makeup products for a fraction of their original selling price, and by a fraction I mean 99p and under.

Glossybox finale

I'm behind in posting this, but my commitments to university have hindered my blogging somewhat, my apologies.

I redeemed my glossy dots to pay for my last glossy box before cancelling my subscription (sneaky). I'm happy to announce that no longer will I be receiving products that are not only not suitable for my sensitive skin, but also my skin tone.

I enjoyed my subscription while it lasted, and am open to suggestions as to products or the like I could try! (Tweet me! @Kerrybelle)

But the show must go on!

So for now I'm taking a back seat with beauty product testing, as a result of a bad allergic reaction to a moisturiser.

am however making a slow and steady come back, if you'll have me. With a few exciting posts on the horizon.

Until then...

Penultimate Glossybox unboxing (November) for 2013 and October review

I understand that December is the last month of the year, thus making this my official penultimate box anyway, but I have decided that I am going to suspend my subscription to Glossybox after the December box arrives. So please take this as my months notice.

I haven't completely fallen out of love with Glossybox, more getting bored of it. The last month, as you will find out in a moment, didn't really do it for me. Too much of the same, and that wasn't even very good.

Also, being the poor student that I am, and it coming up to festive season, I should really save my pennies for something more useful, like presents!...or alcohol! This isn't to say that I wont be returning to Glossybox in the new year, but there are a few other beauty boxes that kinda tickle my fancy, so we'll have to wait and see.

Regular content resumed!

Last months box:

  • MeMeMe Cherubs Blush - Cheek &Lip Tint 12ml £5.50 - Now as shocking as this may sound, I actually quite liked this product, and I will say that it is actually my favourite product from this month. I usually don't like tints, I find the shades really harsh and artificial but this ones completely different. More of a plum than rouge it does give a healthy warm winter blush, and on the lips its equally as flattering for my skin tone. Also, at £5.50, I'M A FAN.
  • Vita Liberata - Latte Illuminating Skin Finish (2 3ml sachets) Full size 30ml RRP £29.95  -OK. Prepare for rant mode. I'm not sure if you're all familiar with the Glossybox signing up process but it goes something like this; say what products you'd prefer, what skin tone you are, get it, be able to wear it. Now somewhere along the line someone thought it would be a right laugh to send me, with my near porcelain skin tone, a LATTE tinted moisturiser. LATTE?! If we're going for hot beverage references, I'm really more of a warm milk.
  • Monu - Illuminating Primer (20ml) Full size 50ml RRP £24.95 - This came a close second this month. Lovely and light, if not slightly flawed by its bottle being over-generous with pouring (or maybe i'm heavy handed) it also has a really cute slight shimmer. I don't use foundation so with my blemishes concealed on top of this, it really makes for a lovely day look.
  • Premae - Multi-Vit Smoothie Serum (20ml) Full size 50ml RRP £22.50 - I'll be honest, didn't really see the point in getting the 3rd item in a 3 step process so it seemed slighty pointless. It smelt good though, like Greentea...mmmm
  • Unica - Kiss It Better Cream (5ml) Full size 50ml RRP £12.95  - Does anybody use LUSH moisturisers? I used to be obsessed with their Dream Cream, and this is a slightly more expensive version of this. Smells exactly the same with the same outcome, intensive moisturising. If you're interested go to LUSH and they'll give you a free sample no qualms.

And this months treats are *Drum roll*

  • Vicy - Idealia Life Serum ( 3 3ml) Full size 30ml RRP £29.50
  • Emite Make up - Micronized Eyeshadow  - Dams (Black) Full size 1.48g £16.80
  • Yves Rocher France  - Hand Cream Full size 75ml £1.95
  • Elegant Touch - Rapid Dry for Nails Full size 125ml £3
  • B - Quick One Coat Professional Finish Nail Polish Full Size 8ml £4.99 (Gold)
YAY! Finally some nail products! I can't wait to try out this nail polish and test it's one coat claims! I also like the fact that there were two polishes you could get, the other being a Complete Long-lasting Nail Polish, but that's a claim that we're all used to being let down by.

Eye's peeled for next months review, guys! I have a feeling this may a good month!

Its Party Season Girls!

The party season is fast encroaching, and if you're anything like me, you're petrified! Finding that perfect outfit that politely gives the two finger salute to those that have been troublesome throughout the year is a MUST. But I think I may have just done it!

My theme for this outfit appears to be rose gold and glitter, but come on, if you can't roll in glitter at Christmas, when can you?! The theme, I will admit, is strongly influenced by this GORGEOUS Michael Kors watch that I found On The Watch Hut, I'm thinking rose gold one would look great on my wrist this Christmas *cough* Boyfriend hint* and keep my silver one company...he's so lonely.
