So there's always been a massive fan base for Harry Potter, and I'm aware of this. What I wasn't aware of however, was the amount of anger that is directed towards individuals that have seen the Films, but have not read the books. I will gladly admit, I am one of those.
Now before you bugger off in outrage, or press send on that disgusting comment you're about to leave, let me explain. The books were all bought for me, upon their release, and I tried to read them, I genuinely did, but I physically couldn't get past the first chapter without wanting to smash my face repeatedly with novel. So I gave the books to my family to read, they were returned and I tried again, but to no avail. I'm a massive fan of the films, and my reasoning for not reading the books was nothing to do with my hatred for the books, or those who read them. I'm not a hipster, I don't rebel, I just couldn't enjoy the books when I was younger (I'm aware that's hard for you to believe). Despite this, It became clear to me that if I wanted to call myself a "Potter fan" and finally shrug the abuse I've received regarding this "outrage" I'd have to read the books.
I'm now 19, and my mission for this break, alongside my new project of blogging/vlogging, is to read the series.
Don't think you've won, crazed Potter fans! I've not caved, I'm merely complying with the mentality of life, "I'll do it later"
