Penultimate Glossybox unboxing (November) for 2013 and October review

I understand that December is the last month of the year, thus making this my official penultimate box anyway, but I have decided that I am going to suspend my subscription to Glossybox after the December box arrives. So please take this as my months notice.

I haven't completely fallen out of love with Glossybox, more getting bored of it. The last month, as you will find out in a moment, didn't really do it for me. Too much of the same, and that wasn't even very good.

Also, being the poor student that I am, and it coming up to festive season, I should really save my pennies for something more useful, like presents!...or alcohol! This isn't to say that I wont be returning to Glossybox in the new year, but there are a few other beauty boxes that kinda tickle my fancy, so we'll have to wait and see.

Regular content resumed!

Last months box:

  • MeMeMe Cherubs Blush - Cheek &Lip Tint 12ml £5.50 - Now as shocking as this may sound, I actually quite liked this product, and I will say that it is actually my favourite product from this month. I usually don't like tints, I find the shades really harsh and artificial but this ones completely different. More of a plum than rouge it does give a healthy warm winter blush, and on the lips its equally as flattering for my skin tone. Also, at £5.50, I'M A FAN.
  • Vita Liberata - Latte Illuminating Skin Finish (2 3ml sachets) Full size 30ml RRP £29.95  -OK. Prepare for rant mode. I'm not sure if you're all familiar with the Glossybox signing up process but it goes something like this; say what products you'd prefer, what skin tone you are, get it, be able to wear it. Now somewhere along the line someone thought it would be a right laugh to send me, with my near porcelain skin tone, a LATTE tinted moisturiser. LATTE?! If we're going for hot beverage references, I'm really more of a warm milk.
  • Monu - Illuminating Primer (20ml) Full size 50ml RRP £24.95 - This came a close second this month. Lovely and light, if not slightly flawed by its bottle being over-generous with pouring (or maybe i'm heavy handed) it also has a really cute slight shimmer. I don't use foundation so with my blemishes concealed on top of this, it really makes for a lovely day look.
  • Premae - Multi-Vit Smoothie Serum (20ml) Full size 50ml RRP £22.50 - I'll be honest, didn't really see the point in getting the 3rd item in a 3 step process so it seemed slighty pointless. It smelt good though, like Greentea...mmmm
  • Unica - Kiss It Better Cream (5ml) Full size 50ml RRP £12.95  - Does anybody use LUSH moisturisers? I used to be obsessed with their Dream Cream, and this is a slightly more expensive version of this. Smells exactly the same with the same outcome, intensive moisturising. If you're interested go to LUSH and they'll give you a free sample no qualms.

And this months treats are *Drum roll*

  • Vicy - Idealia Life Serum ( 3 3ml) Full size 30ml RRP £29.50
  • Emite Make up - Micronized Eyeshadow  - Dams (Black) Full size 1.48g £16.80
  • Yves Rocher France  - Hand Cream Full size 75ml £1.95
  • Elegant Touch - Rapid Dry for Nails Full size 125ml £3
  • B - Quick One Coat Professional Finish Nail Polish Full Size 8ml £4.99 (Gold)
YAY! Finally some nail products! I can't wait to try out this nail polish and test it's one coat claims! I also like the fact that there were two polishes you could get, the other being a Complete Long-lasting Nail Polish, but that's a claim that we're all used to being let down by.

Eye's peeled for next months review, guys! I have a feeling this may a good month!

Its Party Season Girls!

The party season is fast encroaching, and if you're anything like me, you're petrified! Finding that perfect outfit that politely gives the two finger salute to those that have been troublesome throughout the year is a MUST. But I think I may have just done it!

My theme for this outfit appears to be rose gold and glitter, but come on, if you can't roll in glitter at Christmas, when can you?! The theme, I will admit, is strongly influenced by this GORGEOUS Michael Kors watch that I found On The Watch Hut, I'm thinking rose gold one would look great on my wrist this Christmas *cough* Boyfriend hint* and keep my silver one company...he's so lonely.

September Glossy Box review & October Unboxing

I started writing this post with the intention of reviewing last months box whilst this month was pending delivery, however this months box was delivered mid post so plans have changed.

Lets begin with last month's treats:

  • Elizabeth Arden - Untold (5ml) Full Size 50ml RRP £48 - This perfume is incredible, a light and delicate scent that is long lasting? Perfection! If you're new to everyday fragrance wear, I strongly suggest this, it packs enough punch to be detected but not enough to make your eyes water.
  • Eylure - Pre-glued Lashed RRP £5.06  -  I am bless in the eyelash department, mine are jet black, long and there is no shortage of them, so I'm not sure if that is what is swaying my decision in this one, but they just didn't do it for me. Pre-glued lashes are always a risky move, in my opinion, and these proved exactly why, they peeled off on the edges after trimming and throughout the day I was constantly tweaking and pressing them. Not impressed!
  • TONI&GUY Hair Meet Wardrobe - Classic Shine & Gloss Serum 30ml RRP £7.19 - Now this is loved, a really lightweight silky serum that actually does what it claims without making your hair greasy? WHO KNEW! I applaud you TONI&GUY! Paired this with my recently acquired TONI&GUY straighteners (Thank you mum and dad) and my hair is smooth, STRAIGHT and tame.
  • Be A Bombshell Cosmetics -Onyx Eye Liner 3ml RRP $14/£8  - This one has actually replaced my original eyeliner, it makes wings and flicks so much easier! The felt tip like tip is easy to use and doesn't, as I predicted, apply to heavily. Totally worth a look if you're a serial eyeliner user, like myself!
  • Dr Lipp - Original Nipple Balm for Lips (3ml) Full size 15ml RRP £11.50 - As a sufferer of chapped lips, I orginally thought this would be an ideal product for me, but after trying it once, I can honestly say I didn't want to try it again. It's sticky, dense, and has the most horrific smell of bee's wax and chemical. NO.
And on to this month!

  • MeMeMe Cherubs Blush - Cheek &Lip Tint 12ml £5.50
  • Vita Liberata - Latte Illuminating Skin Finish (2 3ml sachets) Full size 30ml RRP £29.95
  • Monu - Illuminating Primer (20ml) Full size 50ml RRP £24.95
  • Premae - Multi-Vit Smoothie Serum (20ml) Full size 50ml RRP £22.50
  • Unica - Kiss It Better Cream (5ml) Full size 50ml RRP £12.95

I'll be honest, this month really hasn't excited me that much. I can see the Primer coming in handy and the smoothie serum for those dry winter days, but other than that, I'm not too excited. Shame really

I read multiple blogs before deciding to subscribe and I'm so glad I did, so in a way, I hope you haven't signed up yet and use my experience as the insight that I needed before taking the plunge.

Break up the Glossyboxes

I realise that not everyone is actually interested in what comes in my monthly subscription to a beauty box, I also understand it's a luxury that not everyone can justify. BUT, FEAR NOT devoted readers, for I have content that shall tickle your fancy any way (yes, it's kind of a product review)

In a post a while back, I one of my money saving secrets regarding the, in my opinion, overlooked gem that is Poundland. Well, I've been back and let me tell you, they did not disappoint. It will also not come as a surprise to you that if you are a regular reader of my twaddle, that I am obsessed with Argan/Macadamia oil, therefore any product that claims to contain any percentage of this, shall be snatched up. FACT.  I will openly admit that Mellor & Russell is not a brand that I had previously heard of, however I now own two of their products and literally cannot fault them!

The first purchase was one I made in preparation for my impending hair abuse (see new blog header image!), the Hair Repair Mask for all hair types. The smell of both of the products I have bought can literally only be described as heaven, really light and fruity but heavy enough to leave a scent on your hair. Good start. This is the first hair mask I've used, and its really just a thicker conditioner, leave it in with a towel on your head to keep it warm, rinse and bobs your uncle. Like I said I used this as preparation for a lot of bleaching and dying, and I really think it helped I.e. my hair is still on my head.

The second product, by the same brand, is an Instant Shine Spray. I know I know, I should have been protecting my hair from heat and nasties long before this, It's just, I HATE the feeling of having too much product in my hair, anything that makes my hair feel heavy or dense immediately resonates "greasy" with me and I have to start all over again. In my defence I do use Macadamia oil every time I wash my hair, before I dry it! Anyway, this spray is, so far, working for me. It's light, leaves my hair shiny and lovely afterwards and doesn't make my hair sticky to touch, in fact there is no residue at all. Bang on.

In all seriousness though guys, if you do dye your hair or use any form of heated styling, you should seriously be protecting your hair before with a spray and a repair based product when you wash it. It's only fair. And with these being a steal at the moment of £1 each, you.literally have no excuse!

Glossy Box review

As the title suggests, this is a product review. If you're not familiar with the products I'm referring to, or why the heck  I'm reviewing a box, I point you in the direction of my previous post. I've also found prices for full sizes of the products I was loving this month if you fancied checking them out yourself.

One product that I am still yet to use is the TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Rinse Off Treatment, for reasons that can only be described as otherwise occupied?  I'm obsessed with a hair mask at the minute and I didn't want to drown my hair in products. But it's on my list.

If you're a regular here at Willyoubemybeast, you'll know of my love for all things nails! Well the Essie Sleek and Stick Nail Wraps did not disappoint  Quick and easy application, and unlike other foils I've used they actually stayed! It was well over a week before I had to do some maintenance. And, my diddy hands were catered for by their size choices. Well chuffed.

I will admit I did smirk slightly when I opened the seaside themed July box and spotted some of the beachy contents, thinking "these won't be used any time soon". How wrong I was! Just in time for the heat wave came my life saver in a bottle, Anatomicals Spray Misty for me Facial Spritz. Hand bag friendly, this is perfect for a quick cool down whilst out, I abused this product like crazy on stuffy coach journeys to and from London. £6 though? Tough one.

Océane Femme Makeup Remover Pen. Yes. Literally the best thing for me. I am a messy bugger with eye makeup and this is so quick and easy. When they become available in the UK, PURCHASE ONE.

The Urban Veda Neem + Botanics Purifying Day Cream was beautiful. Despite it's slightly pungent aroma of menthol it was just what I needed. Light and sinks in beautifully, leaving my face smooth and blemish free. I don't know how, but this stuffs like a miracle cream. I know that terms thrown around but I'm not exaggerating. I am obsessed with moisturisers and this has ticked all my boxes. If you could just lower that price for me, just a touch? Thanks!

And finally on my list of favs, is the Jelly Pong Pong 2-In-1 Cream Shadow and Liner. I'm all about eyeliners in my current everyday look, so to get one of this quality was a right treat! Not a massive fan of it as a shadow, cream shadows don't sit well with me, but as a liner it's top knotch.

Obviously these are just my favourite few, the other products were good, but nothing to rave about if I'm honest. One I was slightly disappointed with were the Sleek Makeup Pout Paints Lip Stains. I'm willing to give them another  go, but currently they're too pigmented for me. Looks a bit like I've kissed a melted crayon. Classy.

Overall, one happy Kerry! And with the next box just around the corner, I'm even happier. So far so good. Glossy Box, I salute you!

"You could even use the boxes as treasure boxes!"

Before I delve into the actual content of this blog, I would first like to take a moment to appreciate the title of this post, bought to you by my Dad. Upon unwrapping the initial outer packing of my Glossy Boxes, he saw the pretty box and exclaimed "You could even use the boxes as treasure boxes!" I love that man and his up-cycling brain.

YouTube Roulette

You know when you've finished watching a YouTube video and there are some recommended videos for you to watch at the end? You click on one, then another and somehow you've gone from watching an innocent cover of Rainbow's - "Since you've been gone"  to a dark, dark corner of YouTube where people watch and review other peoples washing machine cycles. Oh yeah, that's a thing.

Well that my friends, is you unknowingly participating in what I like to call " YouTube Roulette".

The general premise of this game is to pick something random, a song you've had in your head, something you just ate, or a word you've just seen, YouTube it and watch 10 videos from the recommended and see how far away from your original word you can get.

From this game I have uncovered such Internet gems as Manatee Vs Glass  and literal versions of songs

You are welcome

What did I tell you?!

We all know what's coming, so lets just get on with it...I've done another drastic hair change, SHOCKER.

AND before you all laugh it up and start reminiscing about that time I had hair resembling a badger, it's actually paid of this time. SO HA

I've had dip dye for what seems like forever, just over a year in fact, and that's a freaking long time for me to keep a style. As I've mentioned countless times before, it kills me when people have the same stuff as me, and it seems that everyone is getting dip dye and I can't handle that, so I ducked out.

Now with having two tone hair for so long, it's quite difficult to just stop. This isn't some sob story of my emotional attachment to my hair, actually quite the opposite. What I actually mean is, because I've had ombre as well as coloured dip dye, there's some bleach under all that colour, and that's gonna trip me up. I decided I wanted the dip dye gone on my way home from Uni, stopped in a particularly dodgy hairdressers where no one spoke English and sort of signed my hair cut (sounds scarier than it was).  The hairdresser cut off what I thought  was all the bleach but I had a rather nasty surprise when I stripped the heinous black from my hair.

I've used a colour removal treatment before, and this one was working wonders, or so I thought, when I washed it off to reveal my "natural colour". Instead I was left with ginger roots, my near natural reddish brown length and green tips. Excellent.
Result of colour removal :(
The plan was to strip the colour off my hair, leave it for a few days and either stick with what I was left with or whack on a colour i fancied, yeah, that didn't happen. After a quick trip to the shops I returned with this beauty!

Elixir of the gods
I have an obsession with Macadamia oil, so finding it in a dye made my life complete. Never deviate from Schwarzkopf, they know best. FACT. Bunged this bad boy on the ol' noggin' and jobs a gooden'.
BOOM

I got the deep reddish brown I was after. I don't doubt that I'll mix it up at some point with a slightly lighter shade, but for now, it's bang on!
Until the next disaster, Ciao!

How I became "edgy"

The title of this one had me in stitches for a while, but lets just roll with it.

In my previous post I mentioned that I had recently been described as more "edgy" of late, and it got me thinking about what I changed about myself to earn this title. I mean, I've spoken before about my preppy title, and how I never understood where that came from, and denied it with every fibre of my being, but now I'm not so sure. I guess with it being replaced with another label that I'm not 100% certain of, I kinda miss it. I MISS BEING CALLED PREPPY.

I thought I'd compile a few of my recent purchases and we can take the steps of progression together, lets delve in shall we?

Most of the stuff in this part of the haul thang we got going on here, is from Primark. I'm poor, ok?!

Firstly a burgundy t-shirt with leopard print cross. It's quite a thin shirt, so it's great for layering, but I'm currently favouring it as a staple with my highwaisted pleated shirt. Oh yeah, I own one of those.
Burgundy Leopard Print Cross Tee - Primark £1

Another staple of my wardrobe is a leather jacket I got from Henry Holland (if I ever do one of these again, my love for HH will become apparent). I know that everyone has leather jackets, and apart from my love of HH, the individual collarless design of this one is the main reason I went for it. Its a round neck button down jacket with quilted detail around the wrists and hem, really unique to the other ones on the high street at the moment.

Leather Jacket - Henry Holland

Moving into more summer wear, I've got me some loud leggings, I've avoided them for so long, purely for the fact that I wasn't sure I could pull them off. Tiger legs are definitely the way forward though, I mean...LOOK AT THEM. These ones are great, they can be worn when its colder over another pair of leggings for an extra layer, but they're lightweight enough to still make a statement in the summer. I like.

Collar studs and Tiger Leggings  - Primark

The last picture is a disgustingly close, close up and for that I apologise. These two are most likely to be the staple accessories of this summer. I've wanted aviator sunglasses for as long as I can remember but I am cursed with chubby cheeks, prominent cheek apples and a crater for a dimple, meaning my sunglasses need to avoid resting on all this in order for me to smile/talk whilst wearing them. Aviators are well known for their size, so I was at a loss as to whether I was ever going to be able to pull off a pair, put Primark saved me once again, I'm in love! And the earrings? well, you cant buy TopGun glasses without getting your wings...

Aviators and Eagle Mosaic Earrings  - Primark (SHOCKER)

So that's your lot. I'm no longer Preppy. Well...

Care package

This post may initially seem as though I'm just gloating about what things I've bought/been given lately, but I promise that's not my (entire) motive. I'm using this post as more of a groundwork for an upcoming post, which will follow suit from my recent posts and be a review. Now that's out of the way, lets dive in, shall we?

There are two types of, "reviews" that I really want to cover in my upcoming posts. The first idea stemming from a previous post of mine and my slightly obvious love for nail polish and nail designs, as well as a more recent exposure of my makeup collection. Secondly, a fashion based post, after being informed that my appearance has FINALLY progressed. Well, I say "informed", I was told recently that my look's got progressively more "edgy". Despite not being sure if this is a good or a bad thing, I'm rolling with it, who knows, I may be shedding my preppy persona *scoffs*. So that's me, nails painted, face on and looking "Edgy"...this could be amusing.

The cosmetic aspect for this post, comes courtesy of my lovely parents and a care package they sent me, filled with what looks like the majority of an Avon catalogue.

Golden Vision, Lime Splatter, Noir Emerald

Mineral Fix

4 nail varnishes?! You spoil me. The first is pretty much the best thing I could have gotten, I have the worst nails in the world. I paint them regularly partly because my head's constantly full of ideas that I need to try out, but mainly its due to the fact that nail varnishes never last long on my nails. I have really weak and flaky nails, making an uneven base for nail varnishes and thus the longevity of varnishes is next to nothing. With that said, this mineral fix varnish aims to not only even out the nails surface but also strengthen, so I'll give it a bash and keep you posted. I've got a few other Avon Pro+ varnishes and I love them, so I'm really excited to see what these colours are like as a base and for nail art, as well as on top of the Mineral fix. I've linked to the Avon site where I can, but the Mineral fix is nowhere to be seen, unfortunately.

Super Shock Mascara

Sugar Plum and Emerald Glow Eye

I also got a SuperSHOCK mascara, which promises to volumise lashes, now for someone with lashes like mine, volumising isn't really something that I need, I have long lashes, and a lot of them. One thing I do look for in a good mascara though is pigment, I like a dark mascara one that will impact on my dark lashes as they are, a tall order I know. And finally, two retractable pencil eyeliners, in sugar plum and emerald glow, which I'm rather dubious about if I'm honest. I have really ridiculous eyes, on paper they're hazel, in reality they do what they want, recently getting progressively more green, so we'll see if I can match these at some point.

Unfortunately that's the end of this initial part of my "haul" but do look out for the next post which will be fashion based, and then the review of all these items and perhaps even a few more *big hint to my family if they're reading*, until then, Ciao

I can't justify smearing £60 on my face everyday to then take it off afew hours later

I've realised this Blog has quickly become a beauty related one, but I'll roll with it for now, and we'll see where it takes us. This post is a result of a tweet sent by myself whilst watching beauty videos on Youtube and scraping the inside of my foundation bottle in the hope for "one last face".

I've always been an avid watcher of Youtube videos, whether it be music, Vlogs or beauty tutorials and hauls. Recently I went to go and see Rocky Horror Picture show (this will be relevant I swear) and whilst planning the makeup for myself and a friend, I went on to Youtube to watch some "how to's". They were brilliant, I ended up with a dramatic smoky eye in two different pallets for us, polished off with some bold lips and big hair, just what I had in mind. But what I didn't enjoy so much about said tutorials, was the products they used.

I get that these people are really into their makeup, and they want the best on the market, and fair play if you can afford it, but personally I can't. It's always disheartening to watch a video or read a post where they harp on about all their products being MAC, Benefit or YSL, and thinking that everything you do won't match up to them, because you don't have products of the same quality. Yes they're great, but realistically who can afford all of them? I've only ever had a few "Expensive" brand makeups, mainly as gifts and they are 1, used INCREDIBLY sparingly ( I can't justify smearing £60 on my face everyday to then take it off a few hours later) and 2, I'm probably gonna get shot for saying this, but they really aren't that much better than the cheaper brands. I mean yes, there is a difference, but if you are sensible about what you buy, and  know what you're doing with it, it really doesn't make any difference.

I've included a picture below, with the main products that I use to achieve my "everyday" look. The main brands I use are Natural Collection and Collection 2000  which are both drug store brands, affordable and effective. A blemish stick that I bought back in 2009 is still going strong, as is my favourite eye shadow pallet ( featured below) both of which were in the classic Boots 3 for £5 deal. BARGAIN. I have also been known to refill my foundation bottle with the same brand in a plastic tube found on an Ebay store , because it's cheaper than buying another pump bottle.

My "everyday" look
Said "everyday" look

Another money saving confession from me, and i'm not ashamed of this at all, is to keep your eyes peeled. I found both my Collection 2000 Bronzer and Mascara in Poundland, amazing what stuff that shop gets their hands on sometimes. Just to add to the scrimping picture I've painted of myself I use a retractable eyeliner that came free from a magazine that, might I add, is the best pencil eyeliner I've had in a long time and a purple lipstick from Primark, which has surprising staying power, everyday. That's right, I have Primark lipstick and I adore it, SUE ME.

So I think we've established that I'm not a brand girl, but what I buy has the desired effect so I couldn't care less. OK, I think I've successfully got my point across, I have a feeling that this may be a recurring topic for me, perhaps even making a feature in my Youtube come back, who knows.

Crazy Color 'cos I can

Instead of doing what I actually said I would do with my hair, I changed the dip dye colour...AGAIN. This time I learnt my lesson and avoided colours that promsed to be perfect for dipdyes, and went with something that i'd never used before (the clearly most logical decision). My beaut friend bought me a bottle of Crazy Color Violet dye, and with the intentions of having a purple dip dye FINALLY, she began.

The product is a semi-permanent dye, claiming to wash out in 8-10 washes, but we'll see. The bottle says to leave the product on for 30 minutes but I had to reapply mid session towards the blend of my hair, to ensure a more even coverage. A word to those that haven't used this dye before, it's incredibly tacky, so having assistance when applying it would be preferable. I can only imagine the horrific matted blob I would have created if left to my own devices.

Despite the fact the bottle says Violet, and I had prelightened my hair to a white blonde, the end result was more...well, it wasn't purple.

Don't get me wrong, I love the colour, but i'll just warn you that it may be a slightly more blue-ish purple. Ok that's a lie, it's a very blue purple. Some may even say it's just blue, and they would be right. BUT I LOVE IT ALL THE SAME.

Scott Cornwall Colour B4 review

This post is following on from my last hair faux pas regarding a purple dip dye kit and my poor judgement, if you haven't already read that one, or would like to remind yourself of my idiocy, I'll link that here. On with the show!

As I was writing my last post wearing foils, I thought it would be only right to let you know how I got on with that. The product that I was using was Scott Cornwall's Colour B4 which is basically a bleach and ammonia free product that works to lift the colour particles from you hair, restoring you to your natural colour. I'd read some reviews and women were complaining it made them lighter than they were before, but I figured if it removed half of the purple/lilac/mess on my hair then I'd give it a shot, plus I was light before (from pre-lightener, see previous post) so it made no difference to me.

The only real issue I have with this product is how time consuming it is. There are 3 stages, one the usual sit in a foil and "cook" stage, one buff - which removes the colour particles from your hair, and the final stage of a regular rinse with the buffing product from before.

The box does indicate that if the colour is deep then it will take a few more washes to get the body of it off, with the regular strength, or they do offer and stronger mix, but I couldn't find that one, so a "cook, buff, rinse and repeat" was on the cards for me.

I am pretty pleased with the outcome if I'm honest, aside from the products HORRIFIC smell, it did take the colour out of my hair, granted not all of it, but it left me with something I can work with, and after a rest period, fix.

Before

After First buff and Rinse

NOW  -  After second buff and rinse

I am aware that there is a still slightly blue/lilac tinge to my hair but as I said before, I think I can rock this. The remainder of the dye is actually rinsing out with every regular wash of my hair (fading as any dye would). I'm really quite impressed with this product, it may not be perfect, but my hair is healthy, no damage in sight and a much more bearable colour. Overall a very exciting experience, however I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with a heart condition, hair accidents can be VERY stressful. One day I'll learn to think before I dye but not right now, where's the fun in that?!

Dip-Dye Do's and Dont's

Following suit from my last blog, this is a review on hair dye/ dip-dye and some all important DO's and DON'T's, hopefully slightly more helpful than a Furby chat, but we'll see. So sit back and read whilst dye takes (I'm writing this wearing foils)

I am notorious for being that girl that gets an idea in her head of something new she wants to try with her hair, jumps straight in there and then hates it. My family have first hand experience of consoling me through my hair disasters, from when I thought bleach blond highlights only at the front of my head was a good decision and suffered looking like a badger for months, to thinking I was dying my hair red and coming out ginger (although I actually thought I rocked it). Despite this, my last two hair "experiments" actually worked quite well for me. The first, going from a sweeping preppy side fringe that I had sported for what seems like my entire life, to a full fringe. BAM, love it!

The second, and this was a slightly more spur of the moment idea, was to dip-dye my hair. Originally the plan was to strip the bottom half of my hair from its burgundy and replace it with a more vibrant purple. My  flatmate and her friend were on hand to conduct my makeover, however after step one the "stripping" of the colour, it was a unanimous decision that I should sport the ginger look for a while, pretending I meant to do it. So I did. SLADOOSH

Do excuse how large these pictures of my face are, I'm not that vain, honest.

So it's been about 10 months of me re-dying this ginger, actually going to a salon and asking for the most orange they can make it, met me with some very concerning looks and even a few "but blonde's very in for dip dye?" NO, MAKE ME ORANGE. The time has come for me to continue on with quest for purple ends. I purchased a Dip-dye kit, that promised me vibrant purple ends within the hour. Bang on. Now here comes the most important, if not the only thing I wish you to take away from this blog, STAY AWAY FROM SMART BEAUTY DYES. This is the second time I have attempted to use their products and both times I have had to correct my hair from what hell it left behind. Example...

There are lots of pictures of my face in this, apologies.

This is the aftermath of their "Purple Hue Dip-Dye Kit". What a load of crap. On my already light (ginger hair) I used their pre-lightener as suggested, yet still ended up with this patchy lilac mess. Great.

So thus far I have learnt, and wish to pass onto you, the following;
DO lighten your hair first before dip-dyeing, it will make the colour more effective,
DON'T use Smart Colour Dyes, a waste of money, time and efforts and cancel out point #1
DO go to a hairdresser if you want to keep the same colour you achieved first time, it wont happen more than once
DON'T do spur of the moment hairstyles, I was lucky this time, THINK IT THROUGH
DO post attractive pictures of yourself on the Internet

As previously mentioned, I am writing this with foils in, an attempt to remove this slightly horrific colour and restore my hair back to its natural glory with Scott Cornwall COLOUR B4. The reviews and research I've read look promising, lets see shall we...

Reviewing Furple, The Furby

Ok, so I think we have all realised that me blogging regularly isn't going to to happen, its something we need to accept and then move on.

SO, with Christmas and New year out of the way, I'm sure you're all fed up of hearing what everyone got and telling relatives numerous times how much you honestly do love that knitted ensemble, and how much it  will be a staple in your wardrobe. But what's one more person right? So what'cha get?

Ok shut up, my turn.

This post is actually a sort of review, HOORAY SHE SOLD OUT.

I was lucky enough to get a Furby for Christmas, and before you all check my profile for my age again, yes I am aware they are for kids, but come one, we grew up with them, we called dibs! Like Toy Story, that's OURS. I'm sure you all remember what a nightmare the Furby was when you were younger, actually, scrap that, I'm sure your parents remember what a nightmare it was, not turning off, no sleep, and that creepy sadistic laugh, I'm pretty sure you remember it being THE BEST THING EVER. The new and improved version is just that, SO GOOD.

With the development of having  LED eyes (oooh) and an additional, but not entirely necessary iPhone App, the new Furby is so much freaking fun, its impossible not to love it,  I'm sure my housemates disagree. Furple, yes I called my Furby Furple, particularly enjoys dancing along to music. He attempts to sing along, which, if you haven't witnessed, is probably one of the cutest things ever, and dances likes no ones watching (just like his mother :'))

I would highly recommend getting a Furby, fun for all ages! And P.S Parents, just for you, the new and improved Furby goes to sleep when not played with for a few minutes, so you can (literally) put your mind to rest. And P.P.S Children, teenagers, FURBY LOVERS, if you have friends that have one, THEY PLAY TOGETHER <3

See no excuses. Get a Furby and you too could upload a horrifically embarrassing video of you singing to your Furby to the Internet, that will no doubt, come back to bite me on the bum in the future. BRING IT ON!
